Hi! I'm Sam Fonseca, and I've worked on a lot of different things. From comics to animated TV series to movies and music videos. I hope you're interested in my work!
Animation Series
Diário de Pilar, for National Geographic Kids
I help create the visual concept for Pilar's Diary, but I contributed more actively to the visual narrative through storyboards. I also helped with script revisions when necessary.

Cueio (Bunny), for HBO Max
I worked as a director for this series, and also helped redesign the character's visual concept, wrote episodes, did storyboards, and music.
I directed a team of 10+ artists with the help of a PM using Trello for the pipeline. Direction was done in person and through daily Zoom meetings.

The "SPACE BUNNY" case

During the production of the series “Cueio” for HBO Max, I had a silly idea for a nonsense song for the character Cueio. During work hours, I recorded a song with virtual drums, my guitar, and my voice, and on the same day, I made a quick animatic (which explains the lower quality of the drawings). Everything was done in about four hours, music included.
Long story short, the song became an animation (with my demo being professionally recorded later, although, honestly, I still prefer the energy of the demo), and it ended up being so successful that the company that created Cueio started creating more songs and, in the end, went on a national tour with the repertoire, with Cueio Espacial being one of the most requested songs. Who would have thought? You never know.
I ended up composing two more songs for the character, "Vai Vaco", and "Tigui, Hey!"

LILICA REPILICA, for Discovery Kids
I created storyboards and concept art for this series.

DESNECESSAURO, for HBO Max
Just like “Cueio,” I worked as a director for this series, wrote episodes, did storyboards, and some music.
I directed a team of 10+ artists with the help of a PM using Trello for the pipeline. Direction was done in person and through daily Zoom meetings.

INSANIA, Angra band music video
I was responsible for the concept, storyboard, and effects for what was to be a music video with storytelling
In the end, due to various restrictions, the result was different from what was planned - even so, many scenes remained in the final video.
